What a picture perfect Fall day for a wedding at Red Barn Ranch Events in Hopland, California. As a photographer, I shouldn't play favorites but the weather in Mendocino County in late September through October is my favorite to shoot in. Sunny but not hot with clear skies and the summer greens turning autumn gold. The rustic red of the barn popped alongside the groom's gray suit and the blues in the sky, the blue dresses for the bridesmaids, the blue sapphire ring passed down to the bride from her grandmother, and some beautiful blue eyes amongst them as well.
After working with Janelle and Jesse for their engagement session in Fort Bragg, I knew this was going to be a wedding that felt like being with friends. She was warm and friendly. He was just enough reserved about photos to make him a typical guy but sweet enough to make him a great husband to be. Janelle wanted plenty of the usual elegant and more modest wedding images along with more intimate and creative portraits. She pointed out pictures of mine that she liked and I knew that even though I had never shot at this particular wedding venue before, we would capture what she was looking for.
And more, so much more.
What a great team of Ukiah area vendors to work with too! The wedding flowed smoothly, guests had fun, and the catering was really, really delicious. Here's a list, just in case you are looking for your own wedding dream team in the inland Mendocino area.

Carrie Mayfield - Amanda, thank you! That bridge is kinda close to where you two are thinking about getting married... maybe we can sneak out and get a few shots with it :)
