This might be one of most favorite wedding stories to tell, so pull up a chair and get comfortable. This is going to take a while.
Holly and Hayden chose me for an engagement portrait session in Old Town Eureka and it went smashingly well. Starting with a shot of whiskey at The Shanty, I'm a sucker for peer pressure, and ending with all of us smelling suspiciously like colored smoke bombs and laughing our heads off.
When I delivered their online gallery of portraits, they were overjoyed with what we were able to capture and excited to have me photograph their upcoming wedding planned for Moonstone Beach & Merriman's.
Before the wedding could happen, however, they decided to skip all the stress of a traditional wedding and elope to somewhere tropical. Hayden emailed me to say the Trinidad wedding was cancelled and a Jamaican elopement was taking it's place.
Because photographing them in Jamaica sounded like an absolute dream, I figured it was worth asking if they still wanted me to photograph. Turns out, they did. Commence dream state.
Traveling from Arcata Mckinleyville airport to? Be right back... okay, I've got my passport. Where are we flying to?
Before leaving to Jamaica, Hayden and Holly did their own research and so did I. Here are the amazing places we discovered:
Sandals Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay for the wedding, resort, and bridal boudoir photographs
YS Falls in Saint Elizabeth Parish for the waterfall portraits
Black River, Negril, and Trelawney for the landscape and nature pictures
