Shelter Cove is a hidden gem of a location for a wedding or an elopement in Southern Humboldt County which tends to enjoy more sunny days per year than the rest of our coastline.

The drive in is long and windy but incredibly scenic and worth doing at least once. For those who prefer, the town also has a one runway public airport that can be accessed by small to medium sized aircraft when the weather is cooperative.

There are so many lodging options for couples, their families, and guests. Ocean front inns, a variety of vacation rentals on the bluffs or in the woods, or even a tent somewhere on a black sand beach along the Lost Coast Hiking Trail for the more adventurous souls.

Visit the area and you might also decide that the lost coast is the best coast.
