Like so many other couples this year, Kami and Lori had originally planned a wedding with their family and friends in attendance. Having all of your loved ones together in the same space at the same time is so rare in life. Those who choose to elope this year after canceling their traditional wedding feel the absence of their people deeply.
With the help of officiant Reverend Powers , Timber Cove Resort , and the residents and guests of the Mendonoma ( Mendocino - Sonoma ) coast, we still celebrated this special couple and made sure that their day was one to remember always.
Reverend Powers delivered a ceremony that was the perfect fit for these two brides, light hearted yet heartfelt, in front of a breathtaking view. The resort graciously hosted the ceremony and portraits around the property when Kami and Lori's original elopement venue could not be used due to coronavirus restrictions. As always, the local people and guests of this special area on the Northern California coast congratulated the couple and wished them well in passing.
In addition to photographs around the resort on the Sonoma coast, Kami and Lori were wanting some portraits in the redwoods. Lucky for me, they were willing to follow me back across the Mendocino county line to a location I had been wanting so badly to photograph at.
Jake the poodle joined in for some last portraits of the brides in their stunning suits. We still had time remaining and they asked for an outfit change into something that was more casual. To which I replied: am I shooting your Christmas card photo too? Because that's going to be extra. Haha, just kidding!
In the sadness there is still joy.
In the clouds there is still light.
In the rain there is still laughter.
